Professor Bruce Hebblewhite is the Professor of Mining Engineering at the School of Mining Engineering at UNSW Australia.  Specialising in mining geomechanics, underground mine design and planning, Bruce has over forty years international mining industry experience including his former roles as Mining Division Manager for ACIRL Ltd and Head of School, Mining Engineering, UNSW Australia. His extensive experience and education has provided opportunities to be an expert legal witness, and to provide various forms of consulting and research services for industry partners. Bruce has recognised the need for innovative and effective mine safety training for Australian mining engineers, and was the inaugural Executive Director for Mining Education Australia (MEA). Belonging to various national and international professional bodies, Bruce is recognised as a leading figure in the Australian mining education arena.
