Accomplished healthcare professional, across clinical medicine and surgery, translation of innovation clinically, biomedical engineering, government relations, regulatory compliance, quality systems and commercialization of innovation.

  • Founded, grew, and listed on the ASX, Australia’s first orthopaedic design and manufacturing company.

  • Designed, patented and successfully marketed several innovative orthopaedic implants including a Total Knee system and the revolutionary RCI screw for ACL reconstruction. Also designed and patented implants in the fields of vascular surgery, cardiac surgery and neurosurgery.

  • Successfully concluded the Regulatory aspect of the Federal Government sponsored Medical Device Industry Action Agenda, leading industry and regulatory bodies to agreement on key reforms.

  • Promoted the growth of Australia’s medical device industry through key roles with the Federal and State Governments, as well as through Board membership with Australia’s peak biomedical industry body, AusBiotech.  

  • Core member of the TGA's Medical Device Evaluation Committee, which provides advice to the TGA on complicated issues in medical device regulation.

  • Member of the Prosthesis Listing Advisory Committee, advising the Federal Health Minister opn matters around prosthesis pricing and health economic strategies.

  • Tertiary education role, University of Sydney, Honorary Professor teaching final year bio-engineering students the application of engineering in the field of medical devices in industry. Industry advisory boards for University of Sydney Bioengineering and UNSW SBmE.  Professor of Practice, Regulatory Affairs - School of Biomedical Engineering, UNSW.
