Ingrid Matthews (BEc LLB PhD) is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and Justice. Her recently conferred PhD (2021) is on decolonising legal education. Ingrid has published research on how structural power relations are invisiblilsed in public discourse; and she has worked extensively on developing curriculum around the ontology of legal pluralism and rejecting anglo-centric pedagogy in law and criminology. Ingrid Matthews (BEc LLB PhD) is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and Justice. Her recently conferred PhD (2021) is on decolonising legal education. Ingrid has published research on how structural power relations are invisiblilsed in public discourse; and she has worked extensively on developing curriculum around the ontology of legal pluralism and rejecting anglo-centric pedagogy in law and criminology. Her core research and expertise are in creation of criminality by the colonial state and the jurisprudence of colonisation.
