Dr Lily Pearson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Biomedical Sciences at UNSW Sydney. Her research lies at the intersection of neuroscience, spatial multiomics, advanced microscopy and computational data analysis, with a focus on understanding how cellular identity, spatial organisation and molecular signalling shape the development and function of complex biological systems.
With a background in sensory neuroscience, Dr Pearson combines high-dimensional imaging, spatial transcriptomics and proteomics, and quantitative computational approaches to investigate neuronal diversity, cellular interactions and tissue organisation. Her research spans auditory and vestibular neuroscience, neuroimmune interactions and emerging molecular therapies, with an emphasis on integrating large, complex datasets to address fundamental biological questions.
A central focus of her work is developing and applying innovative imaging and analytical pipelines to bridge molecular information with cellular architecture and function. Through interdisciplinary collaborations, she aims to advance our understanding of how genetic programs and local cellular environments influence neuronal identity, development and responses to disease.
