My Research Activities

My research focuses on the development of advanced ocular drug delivery systems, with a particular emphasis on contact lens-based therapeutics for eye diseases and myopia control. My recent work has investigated the loading, absorption, attachment, and controlled release of atropine from soft contact lenses to improve treatment efficacy, patient compliance, and ocular bioavailability. My broader research interests span pharmaceutical formulation development, biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and translational vision science. I am particularly interested in understanding drug-material interactions, formulation optimisation, and the physicochemical and biological performance of therapeutic delivery platforms. My research combines laboratory experimentation, analytical characterisation, and preclinical evaluation to support the development of innovative technologies for eye care.

In addition to ocular drug delivery research, I have extensive experience in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacology, including formulation development, natural product research, pharmacological evaluation, toxicological assessment, and the investigation of bioactive compounds. My work has resulted in more than 35 peer-reviewed publications and has been presented at international conferences in vision science, pharmaceutical sciences, contact lens research, and nanomedicine.

My current research interests include contact lens-based drug delivery systems, ocular therapeutics and myopia control, ophthalmic biomaterials, pharmaceutical formulation development, drug-material interactions, advanced drug delivery technologies, translational vision science, and pharmaceutical and pharmacological research. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, I aim to develop innovative therapeutic technologies that can be translated into clinically relevant solutions for improving vision and eye health.
