Wentao is a clinical epidemiologist and an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow, who has extensive experience in randomised controlled trials, observational studies using linked health data, and evidence synthesis (especially the individual participant data approach), producing reliable evidence addressing important clinical questions in reproductive health and obstetrics. His research aims to improve practices by providing credible evidence on the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of conditions related to infertility and pregnancy.
Wentao has initiated and led many large international collaborative projects. He has established extensive international and national collaborative networks involving clinicians, trialists, researchers, and methodologists to bring research to the next level with a joint force. He has been closely working with multiple institutions and academic hospitals in Australia, Asia, Europe and South America.
Wentao's expertise and experience have been recognised internationally. He is a technical advisory member of the World Health Organization's (WHO) Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP). He is also the current Deputy Editor for Human Reproduction - the flagship journal of the European Society of Human Reproduction and methodological editor for F&S Reviews - a journal of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
