Dr Rizwan Khan is an EMCR with a diverse background spanning neuroimmunology, genomics, and cell biology. His research interests encompass infectious diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer, with a particular focus on developing targeted immunotherapeutic strategies.

Dr Khan completed his PhD at Western Sydney University, where he investigated disturbances in the adaptive immune system of Alzheimer’s disease cohorts. His work combined next-generation sequencing to profile B and T-cell repertoires with tandem LC-MS/MS–based proteomic analysis, aiming to advance the development of early diagnostic tools for Alzheimer’s disease.

Currently, Dr Khan’s research focuses on virally driven cancers, where he integrates immunopeptidomics with T cell–based approaches to identify novel tumour-associated antigens, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets. Through this work, he contributes to the development of precision immunotherapies and the broader understanding of immune responses in cancer.
