He collaborates across many countries, serves as an expert advisor to the WHO and is secretary and steering committee member for the 4th international Post TB symposia (Korea 2027). Prof Byrne has over 100 peer-reviewed publications that have been cited over 3,000 times, with a H index of 21 and i-10 index of 36.

4) The V-QUIN MDR TRIAL: Expert Panel Member to review adverse events. The V-QUIN trial is a multicentre, randomised controlled trial to assess the efficacy of 6 months of levofloxacin preventative therapy for household contacts of multidrug resistant tuberculosis patients in Vietnam.
5) St Vincent’s hospital tuberculosis working group. Founding member (2015-ongoing).
