Thomas Sobey is a scientist in the European Molecular Biology Laboratory of Single Molecule Science in Sydney Australia. He completed a double degree in Commerce (Finance) and Physics (with first class Honours) including an exchange semester at the University of Bonn. Following this he took up a position at the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation in Melbourne before accepting a PhD Scholarship from the German Government at the University of Munich. This was offered in Bionanotechnology based in the Faculty of Physics. The work demonstrated new artificial self-assembled DNA structures.
