Biography
After 20 years in the corporate sector, Walter moved to academe in 2003 to develop his expertise in managing programs and complex projects. After 20 years in the corporate sector, Walter moved to academe in 2003 to develop his expertise in managing programs and complex projects. His work focus on the deployment of technology to achieve significant transformation and benefits. These include addressing societal challenges, such as rapid urbanisation trends and smart cities, and the co-creation of digital platforms for addressing the multiple challenges of refugees and migrants.
Walter has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in top conferences and journals and is an active member of the international information systems community. He is a Senior Editor for the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and Associate Editor for Information Systems Research and past AE for the European Journal of Information Systems, among other journals.
