Clinical Midwifery Consultant | Westmead Hospital

I am a passionate researcher, clinician and academic, committed to ongoing enhancement of healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
With BSC and MSC degrees in Midwifery, a doctoral qualification in Public Health (Sexology), three decades of clinical skills and 2 decades experience in academic leadership and research, I have the experience of leading and shaping the next generation of nursing and midwifery professionals. I hold track record of managing complex research projects, lecturing and tutorials, HDR supervision and staying at the forefront of pedagogical advancements.
The younger generation is our future and it is my honour to help them in shaping their future with everything I can inside the classroom and outside as well. My teaching philosophy focuses on making the training session as interactive as possible because I believe that interactive training sessions are easy to memorise. My approach to teaching is to encourage students to engage in discussions during my class and try to build cooperation between the students so that they can exchange their own ideas and understand different perspectives of the same content.
My track record of securing competitive grants (both nationally and internationally), publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, h Index 18, and more than 1000 citations attest to my commitment to advancing health research and my ability to make substantial contributions to the healthcare system. Throughout my academic journey, I have led the development of innovative research projects that emphasised on evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultural competence. My approach to research revolves around fostering critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to navigate the complex healthcare landscape.
