George is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Information Systems and Technology Management at UNSW. Since joining UNSW, George has shaped the learning experience by engaging with how students learn. He has a passionate belief in the potential of all his students. He understands that learning is a continuous process and consistently seeks innovative ways to support his students' learning. He has adopted new approaches in his courses, including the integration of Generative AI in the classroom. With sustainability at the core of his teaching philosophy, he co-established and co-leads the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Community of Practice at UNSW.
George is the Coordinator of the UNSW Online Analytics Program, recognizing the critical role analytics plays in today's data-driven world. His strong interest in analytics drives his commitment to helping students with the skills to use data for informed decision-making and strategic insights.
George is passionate about assessment and feedback, designing authentic assessments that resonate well with students. He has been extensively involved in numerous projects related to these areas from an early stage. He co-led the Student Feedback and Digital Assessment Community of Practice (2021-2023), the Assessment and Feedback Fellowship in 2021, and the Feedback Fellowship in 2022. He is currently an active member of the Assessment and Feedback Workgroup.
His current research delves into the evolving landscape of technology, focusing on exploring novel ways for organisations to enhance their efficiency and productivity through the utilisation of emerging digital tools. Recognising the need for digital sustainability, George balances the benefits of digital transformation with environmental and social responsibility. His research aims to shape a future where technology and sustainability coexist, transforming society for the better.
