Dr Wenmu Yang is a research associate in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Composite Materials and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2014 and completed his PhD at UNSW in 2024.

His research focuses on the development of advanced carbon fibre-reinforced polymer composites with enhanced mechanical performance, thermal stability, and fire resistance. His work involves the integration of nanoscale reinforcing particles and nano-engineered interfaces to improve structural integrity and durability under extreme thermal and mechanical conditions. His research interests include multifunctional composite materials, nano-engineered fire-resistant systems, and high-temperature composite structures for aerospace, defence, and energy applications.
