Carmen's research interests include digitally enabled strategic transformation in organisations and digital empowerment in social studies. In the past few years, she has conducted case study research in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Germany. She has published in premier IS journals, including MIS Quarterly, Journal of Association Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems and in premier IS conference papers (ICIS, ECIS). She received her PhD degree from The National University of Singapore. Prior to entering academia, she worked in the private and public sectors in Singapore and Malaysia. She was also the recipient of the 2021 AIS Impact Award, the NUS President's Graduate Fellowship and was listed in the Top 200 Scholars of 2019-2021 and 2015-2017 AIS Research Ranking.
