I hold the concurrent positions of Associate Professor at the UNSW Centre for Social Research in Health and Associate Dean (Engagement and Impact) for UNSW Arts, Design and Architecture.

I am recognised in Australia and globally as a leading social researcher in health, gender and sexuality. My research has primarily examined social aspects of blood borne virus prevention and care (particularly HIV), sexual and reproductive health, and LGBTQ+ health.

This wide-ranging program of research engages with and impacts the intersecting fields of mental health, Aboriginal health, trans and gender diverse health, disability, harm reduction, cancer prevention, violence prevention, child and family wellbeing, and gender and sexuality studies.

I have particular leadership strengths in aligning the interests of diverse stakeholder groups to achieve positive and enduring outcomes for communities, governments and researchers, and creating opportunities to promote and evidence the value of the arts, humanities and social sciences in collaborative partnerships.
