Dr. Eric Lim is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Systems and Technology Management (SISTM) at UNSW Business School, UNSW Sydney. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University (Canada) as well as a Master of Science degree from the National University of Singapore (Singapore) and a Bachelor of Communication degree from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). Eric’s research interests focus on exploring the impact of digitalization on individuals, organizations, and the broader society, paying particular attention to the design and innovation of digital services across a variety of contexts such as crowd platforms, Fintech, and healthcare. Eric is especially interested in investigating phenomena that shed light on how disruptive technologies in the likes of Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, and Internet of Things (IoT) could be harnessed to cater to individual needs, unleash business potential, and realize societal benefits. Methods-wise, Eric is pluralistic, being well-versed with both qualitative and quantitative techniques. He has published articles based on action research, case studies, design science, focus groups, online and laboratory experiments as well as surveys. Eric is a regular presenter at leading international conferences and findings from his research have been published in leading academic journals such as Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JAIST), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Decision Support Systems (DSS), as well as Information and Management (I&M), among others. Apart from serving regularly on the conference committees of prestigious information systems conferences (e.g., AMCIS, ECIS, ICIS, and PACIS), Eric is currently serving on the editorial boards of Australian Journal of Information Systems (AJIS), Industrial Management & Data Systems (IMDS), Internet Research (IntR), Journal of Computer Information Systems (JCIS), and Journal of Management Analytics (JMA). He has served in various editorial capacities for special issues at DSS and Information Systems Journal (ISJ).
