Biography
Rakesh Joshi is an Associate Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering and leading the Graphene Research Group (UNSW Team Graphene). Rakesh Joshi is an Associate Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering and leading the Graphene Research Group (UNSW Team Graphene). Before joining UNSW, he was a Marie Curie International Fellow with Nobel Laureate Sir Andre Geim at the University of Manchester. Joshi is among a select group of researchers who have been awarded each of the world’s most prestigious relevant International Research Fellowships; the JSPS Invitation Fellowship, the Humboldt Fellowship and the Marie Curie International Fellowship. A/Prof Joshi is currently leading various industry-funded research projects on the application of graphene. Dr Joshi has over $1.5 million of industry funding as Principal investigator (Lead Chief Investigator) and over $4 million as Chief Investigator (CI) on ARC projects. Joshi's team was the finalist (with Sydney Water) for NSW Water Award (Australian Water Association) in Research Excellence Category. A/Prof Joshi has over 90 journal articles (and 3 international patents), with over 70 articles as the first/corresponding author.
