Biography
Dr Wijeratne is a psychiatrist with expertise in severe mood disorders, neurocognitive disorders, including young onset dementia, and the assessment of capacity. He has a longstanding interest in doctors' health, in particular the challenges faced by late career practitioners, and in medical regulation given his work as an assessor for the Medical Council of NSW. Dr Wijeratne is a psychiatrist with expertise in severe mood disorders, neurocognitive disorders, including young onset dementia, and the assessment of capacity. He has a longstanding interest in doctors' health, in particular the challenges faced by late career practitioners, and in medical regulation given his work as an assessor for the Medical Council of NSW. He has been involved in research in a variety of areas, including chronic fatigue which was the subject of his postgraduate research degree, bipolar disorder and currently doctors' health.
