Biography

Dr Sara Shirowzhan is the lecturer and the Academic Advisor of the City Analytics program in the School of Built Environment (BE) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. She is also the co-convener of the Smart Cities and Infrastructure Cluster at BE. Dr Sara Shirowzhan is the lecturer and the Academic Advisor of the City Analytics program in the School of Built Environment (BE) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. She is also the co-convener of the Smart Cities and Infrastructure Cluster at BE. Sara’s areas of research in technologies relevant to built-environment informatics include sensing technologies, advanced GIS, BIM, digital twins, and artificial intelligence. Sara teaches and supervises students on City Analytics, GIS, Construction Informatics and BIM relevant topics at undergrad and postgrad levels at UNSW. She is currently an Editorial Board member of the journals of Sustainability (MDPI) and Advances Civil Engineering. She is also a Topic Board member of the ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information as well as Buildings journal. Sara completed her PhD in Geomatics Engineering from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW.
