Dr Sophia Lin originally trained as a dietitian and nutritionist and has completed additional public health qualifications and training. Dr Sophia Lin originally trained as a dietitian and nutritionist and has completed additional public health qualifications and training. Her primary research foci are on pragmatic strategies to preventing and controlling chronic diseases and related risk factors and community-based approaches to improving the social determinants of health in Australian and international settings. Areas of research work include rural and remote Aboriginal communities, the Pacific Islands, Asia, and East Africa.
Dr Lin is currently a Lecturer in the School of Population Health. She is also the Academic Adviser for the Bachelor of International Public Health program and convenes courses in epidemiology, chronic disease prevention and control, and public health nutrition and physical activity.
