Biography

Brittany is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and Clinical Psychologist at the Behavioural Sciences Unit, School of Clinical Medicine, UNSW Medicine & Health and the Kids Cancer Centre, Sydney Children's Hospital. Brittany completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons I) at the University of Sydney, and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) and PhD (Paediatrics) at UNSW Sydney. Her PhD research examined the psychosocial impact of precision medicine and clinical genetic testing on families affected by childhood cancer.
As a medical psychologist and researcher she has been involved in the development of a suite of information resources and supportive care interventions for families affected by childhood cancer and other chronic and severe illnesses of childhood, including genetic conditions. Her current projects include the development and evaluation of a telehealth psychological support program for parents of children with hard-to-treat cancer, and a project examining the psychosocial impact of expanded newborn screening in Australia.
