Biography
Professor Gail Matthews is an Infectious Diseases Physician and Program Head, Therapeutic Research and Vaccine Program at The Kirby Institute, She is also Head of Infectious Diseases at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. Research Interests:
General areas of interest include therapeutic research in the fields of HIV, viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and hepatitis C), and COVID-19. Specific areas of research interest include acute hepatitis C infection, HIV-HBV coinfection, long term sequelae of COVID-19 as well as infections in people who inject drugs.
