Dr. Kasun Wijesooriya is a Research Fellow at the School of Engineering and Technology in UNSW Canberra. His research is primarily focused on extreme loading events such as wind and blast effects and an expert in numerical finite element modelling.
Having a strong background in Structural Engineering and Dynamics, Kasun's primary research focus was on Wind Engineering and Fluid-Structure Interaction of Civil structures such as Super-tall buildings. However, since completing his PhD, Kasun has broadened his research interests to encompass other fields, including Blast and Impact effects, Sustainable Construction, and the application of Artificial Intelligence in Engineering.
