I am a Solid State Physicist, interested in the electronic structure theory of semiconductor devices used for quantum computing with spins, as well as general theoretical questions about quantum processor control, scalability and noise processes. I have been working in this field for over ten years as a professor in Brazil, and have moved to Australia in 2018 to work directly with experimentalists. My work at UNSW focuses on quantum dots built on industry-compatible SiMOS devices. I work in Prof. Andrew Dzurak's group. Our current endeavour is to scale up our qubits to deliver a small working quantum computer within the next five years. Many intriguing scientific questions are appearing along our journey. We are always welcoming bright young minds to join us in our quest.
