My Research Activities
Dr. Burnett is part of the Knowledge Management team at the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), and offers her expertise in academic research and is a representative within sectoral working groups. One of her notable responsibilities includes managing the IAPB Vision Atlas, ensuring it reflects the latest evidence crucial for policymakers, health planners, eye health professionals, NGOs, patient groups, and advocates. Dr. Burnett is instrumental in preparing sector wide measures of progress, and provides input into global eye health data and evidence requirements.
Dr. Burnett provides ongoing research consulting services to the Fred Hollows Foundation in developing tools aimed at improving eye health outcomes. Current/past projects include developing a methodology and toolkit for assessing the quality of refractive error care in low-resource settings, establishing internal processes to evaluate the Foundation's provision of eye health services in an equitable and disability-inclusive manner, and working on the development of an organizational refractive error strategy aligned with the WHO World Report on Vision, WHO Global report on assistive technology, and the IAPB 2030 IN SIGHT strategy.
Dr. Burnett is an Assistive Technology Technical Advisor with ATscale, the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology.
