Dr Christian Mussap is a Senior Staff Specialist and Interventional Cardiologist at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney. Dr Christian Mussap is a Senior Staff Specialist and Interventional Cardiologist at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is credentialed in coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, having trained at Westmead Hospital (Sydney) and at The Lenox Hill Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute (New York). Dr Mussap was awarded a PhD (UNSW) in the field of vasoactive neuropeptide pharmacology, and has wide-ranging clinical research interests in endovascular intervention, imaging (included coronary CT), and outcomes following therapy for acute coronary syndromes. Dr Mussap is Conjoint Senior Lecturer with UNSW, and a senior examiner for the RACP. He is Director of Postgraduate Training (Cardiology) and Director of Advanced Training (Hospital), and is actively involved in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students (UNSW). He was awarded clinical Tutor of the Year, 2012, and currently (co-) supervises several ILP and PhD students. He is principal investigator (at the Hospital) for several multicentre international clinical trials, including the ‘GLAGOV’ and ‘CARAT’ Trials. Dr Mussap has published ~30 research papers in peer-review journals, and has authored review articles and book chapters. Dr Mussap is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Interventional Cardiology, and regularly reviews manuscript submissions for international journals, including Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Journal of Interventional Cardiology, Eurointervention, and Heart Lung and Circulation.
