Dr. Honghao Chen is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering at UNSW Sydney. He is a multidisciplinary researcher with a strong background in both material science and engineering, specialising in corrosion prevention and failure analysis. His key research areas include stress corrosion cracking (SCC), microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC), steel failure analysis, and metallurgy. Dr. Chen’s work primarily focuses on developing innovative solutions to prevent corrosion-related failures in the mining industry, particularly on rock and cable bolts. With extensive academic and industry collaborations, his current projects are deeply industry-oriented, working closely with mining partners to address corrosion challenges in underground mines.
