Dr. Jae Sung Yun is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He earned his Bachelor of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Yonsei University, Korea, in 2008 and Master of philosophy in MSE at the University of New South Wales in 2010. Afterwards, he completed his PhD study on the fabrication and characterization of polycrystalline Si thin-film solar cells in SPREE under the supervision of Professor Martin A. Green in 2014. Following that he joined the perovskite solar cell group in the same department as a postdoctoral fellow until 2017. His current research focuses on functional nanoscale imaging of defects such as grain boundaries and domain walls in various types of photovoltaic materials, discovering and characterizing nanoscale charge transport properties. For this purpose, he developed and employed various scanning probe microscope techniques such as Kelvin probe force microscopy, conductive atomic force microscopy, and piezoelectric force microscopy.
