Dr Jason Behary is a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at St George Hospital, and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW Sydney. Jason was awarded the Dean's Award for his PhD thesis titled 'The Rising Burden of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: Epidemiology, Gut Microbiota & Immunopathogenesis'. His research at the Microbiome Research Centre (MRC), St George and Sutherland Clinical School, is aimed at understanding the role of the gut microbiome and associated immune response in liver cancer. Jason is also passionate about the education and training of junior doctors, and he is the Co-Director of  Physician Education and Training, St George Basic Physician Training Network.
