Biography

Dr. Jieying Liang is a Lecturer and NHMRC Emerging Leadership (EL1) Fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney). Dr. Jieying Liang is a Lecturer and NHMRC Emerging Leadership (EL1) Fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney). Dr. Liang’s research interests span metal-organic frameworks, nanozymes, enzyme immobilization, biocatalysis, nanobionics, and biotechnology for environmental and biomedical applications. To date, Dr. Liang has published more than 38 journal articles in leading journals including JACS, Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Advanced Functional Materials. In addition, Dr. Liang has secured over AUD 1.5 million in competitive research funding, including NHMRC Investigator, ARC Discovery Project, and international collaborative grants. Dr. Liang’s research in biocatalytic nanomaterials has received national and international recognition, including the 2021 Best Paper Award, 2023 Rising Stars Women in Engineering Asia Award, 2024 Travel Award for "Global Conference for Women Leaders and Emerging Researchers in Material Science" (Singapore), the 2024 Engineering UNSW Research Excellence (Early Career Academic) Award et al.

My research lies at the intersection of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), nanozymes, enzyme immobilization, biocatalysis, nanobionics, and biotechnology, with a focus on addressing challenges in environmental and biomedical applications.
