Josh Hanson is a general and infectious diseases physician based in Cairns. In Far North Queensland, he coordinates the medical outreach programme to Indigenous communities on Cape York, but he has been performing clinical research in Asia since 2006. He has a particular interest in the clinical management of infectious diseases in the resource poor setting and is currently collaborating with the University of Medicine 2 in Yangon to establish the Kirby's tropical medicine research programme in Myanmar.
