I am a senior lecturer in engineering alloys at Imperial College London, UK. I also hold an adjunct senior lectureship position with the School of Materials Science & Engineering at UNSW. I was awarded my PhD in 2017 from Deakin University (Australia), for a thesis on thermo-mechanical processing of duplex stainless steels. I am a former Victoria Fellow and Alfred Deakin Research Fellow, and recipient of Thermo Fisher Scientific Cowley-Moodie award for an outstanding contribution to physical sciences using Electron Microscopy in Australia (2018). In the last six years I have also been a visiting scientist at The University of British Columbia and McGill University in Canada, Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH in Germany and TU-Vienna in Austria. I was the lead researcher of the UNSW-based team of the AUSMURI project (2018-2023) on the role of interfaces during additive manufacturing.
