My Expertise
My research is focused on the development of single-cell technologies. We have created several popular single-cell RNA sequencing worldwide, including Smart-seq2, Small-seq and Smart-seq3. My vision is to use the power of these technologies in precision oncology to tailor the treatment and suggest the right drug for the right patient. Furthermore, we have created a unique microfluidics platform for blood-based liquid biopsy (circulating tumour cells and circulating tumour DNA). Finally, we work on an unparallel culture system for solid biopsy (tumour tissues). Both liquid and solid biopsies will be used for precision oncology.

I am a group leader at the School of Medical Sciences and a visiting group leader at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. My research program uses state-of-the-art technology in the field of "single cell omics" to tackle hard-to-crack problems of cancer treatment. My focus is pancreatic cancer and other solid tumours. The main goal of the lab is to tailor treatment for each patient.
