Dr Omari is an enthusiastic cancer researcher who has a passion to alleviate patients suffering through state-of-the-art research to find new targetable culprits. She also test novel therapeutic agents on blood cancer cells in vitro and in vivo through pre-clinical studies. She graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2014, studying the expression level of the Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) in blood cancer cell lines and patients samples. She also studied the effect of Capsaicin, the active agent in hot chilli and the TRPV1 activator, on blood cancer cells. This work resulted in a few published journal articles.

During her postdoctoral studies, Dr. Omari studied acute lymphoid leukaemia, a rare blood cancer, in children. This work resulted in a few published journal articles on top tier journals. Currently, Dr. Omari is a postdoctoral scientist at AMR, Sydney, studying the effect of novel drugs on leukaemia cells in pre-clinical models.
