Nature of Projects / Methodology:
• Quantitative research /Prospective study using symptom questionnaire and hands on clinical motility studies–Effect of Ketogenic diet on gastroesophageal reflux, gastric and colonic function, growth and nutrition and quality of life in patients with seizure disorders–• Quantitative research /Prospective study using symptom questionnaire and hands on laboratory work–Effect of blenderised diet on gastric function and microbiome•Prospective study with patient contact and using validated questionnaires–Dietary intake and predictors of malnutrition in children with oesophageal atresia•Retrospective chart reviews–Predictive factors for the prevalence of fungal oesophagitis in children–Increased risk for anaesthetic complications in children with oesophageal atresia–Radiation exposure risk in infants and children with oesophageal atresiaClinical Exposure
–Students will be invited to attend clinics with the supervisor and take part in departmental journal club, academic meetings, histopathology and radiology meeting, observing endoscopy procedures in operating theatres–Students will be encouraged to write up their ILP project for publication in a peer reviewed journal and presentation in national and international conferences -
