I am a Lecturer at the School of Engineering and Information Technology, UNSW Canberra. My research is focus on metamaterials operating in acoustic domain. I have theoretical and experimental expertise in designing acoustic metamaterials, exploiting their intriguing possibilities to engineer waves in unprecedented ways. I have been working on noise control and structural health monitoring for many years, which enable me to apply the outstanding metamaterials for different engineering purposes ranging from micro-electro-mechanical systems to medical science. I am a member of the Advanced Electromagnetics group.

Research Projects and PhD supervision

Enquiries are welcome from potential PhD candidates who are interested in conducting research in the following areas:

While specific expertise in these areas is not required, a solid background in acoustic or electromagnetic waves is essential. Projects can involve theory, experiment, and/or numerical simulation.
To be admitted to a UNSW PhD you must meet the formal entry requirements. Strong candidates should be eligible for one of the scholarship schemes available from UNSW Canberra. In addition, all applicants must meet the English language requirements.

If you are eligible and interested in working on the above topics or related areas. Please kindly send me the following for review and advise

  • Your academic CV
  • Your academic transcripts
  • Links to your Google Scholar page, ResearchGate page, Scopus ID etc.
