Under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Green Initiative will chart a path for the Kingdom in protecting the planet.
"The Saudi and Middle East Green Initiatives are only a start. The Kingdom, the region and the world needs to go much further and faster in combatting climate change. Beginning this journey to a greener future has not been easy, but we are not avoiding tough choices. We reject the false choice between preserving the economy and protecting the environment.” His Royal Highness
Therefore an investigation on #Smart_cities is need to answer What is Smart cities and what are the pillars, and Abood khaled Alamoudi a research and Phd candidate at the university of New South Wales UNSW is elaborating in detailed
What is the definitions of Smart Cities?
There is no unified definition, yet it has been defined based on the purpose that was created for
Abood Alamoudi - researcher on smart cities
In my opinion, the definition of smart cities is cities that depends on Information and Communication Technology ICT to enable decision-maker to make the right decision based on the synchronized data with all governmental agencies
Smart Cities has 6 Pillars
Smart Governance, Smart Economy, Smart Environment Smart People, Smart Living, Smart Mobility
Smart Cities can positively promote urban sustainability
like what was said
"If it cannot be measured, it cannot be managed” Peter Drucker
Smart cities can measure the carbon emissions produced by factories Cars, Buildings, Ships, Airplanes and smart cities has the ability to control the amount of greenhouse gas emission by understanding which will protect the environment and boost the urban sustainability
The Line city, NEOM - Zero carbon city, 100% renewable energy
Are the 6 measures that you mentioned enough to be considered when designing Smart cities, and is there any other measures?
What I Mentioned was the pillars of smart cities. However, to design a smart cities the following measure must be taken into consideration
1- The Brain of the Cites
As mentioned earlier, cities has to have a brain to control, to manage and to analyse
2- Citizen's participation
This is where community participation can be involved in the development of smart cities
3-Scabllity of Big Data
This is where data needs to be synchronized with stakeholder involved in developing smart cities.
4- Cybersecurity
This is where data needs to be well secured from any external interference
The End
