During his PhD at UNSW, he was also as a Casual Academic at UNSW and a Postgraduate Research Awardee (PGRA) at the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) in affiiation with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO). His PhD research work was focused on investigating the biophysical interfacial interactions involved in the development of Epidemic Thunderstorm Asthma (ETSA) employing highly advanced characterisation tools & techniques including QCM-D, Ellipsometry, MALDI-TOF, ATR-FTIR, AFM, Plasma Generator, XRR and Neutron Reflectometry. Currently, in his role as a Postdoctoral Researcher, he is investigating the properties of the fatty acid membranes and phoshpholipid memebranes for applications in the fields of synthetic biology and nanobiotechnology, and understanding of the the origin of life.
