I am a Paleoceanographer, one who studies oceans in past climates. My work focuses on the role of the ocean in changes in the global carbon cycle, ocean biogeochemistry, Southern Ocean marine ecosystems, and Australian hydroclimate. For this, I use high- and intermediate-complexity Earth system climate models to perform numerical simulations of past climates. Currently, I am investigating the impact of the shutdown of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation on Australian rainfall and associated Southern Ocean processes.
My Teaching
I teach the Paleoclimate lecture/tutorial as part of the CLIM3001 course for undergraduate students.
