Research Interests
Prof Grimm supervises a number of research projects in the Department of Gastroenterology, St George and Sutherland Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health. The research areas include: immunopathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases; novel therapeutic strategies in inflammatory bowel diseases; mucosal immunity and lymphocyte trafficking; regulatory T lymphocytes and other mechanisms controlling gastrointestinal immunity; the role of the appendix in gut immunity and IBD; clinical, psychological, physiological and microbial predictors of IBD relapse.
