Biography

Professor Warrick Lawson is Head of the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences at UNSW Canberra.  Professor Lawson is an astrophysicist with significant expertise in star formation, young stellar populations, and stellar evolution.

Professor Warrick Lawson is Head of the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences at UNSW Canberra.  Professor Lawson is an astrophysicist with significant expertise in star formation, young stellar populations, and stellar evolution. 
 
For Future Research Students: PhD scholarships worth AUD $35,000 per year are available for high performing students (1st class Honours or equivalent undergraduate degrees, or Master of Philosophy or Masters by Research postgraduate degrees) to study properties of the stellar populations of some of the nearest star forming regions to Earth. These studies will make use of Australian and international ground-based optical, infrared and radio facilities, and archival space-based data from satellites such as NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope.
