Florence is the Knowledge Translation Lead at the National Centre for Clinical Research in Emerging Drugs (NCCRED). She is a Registered Nurse, with a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, a Diploma in Tropical Nursing and MSc in Public Health with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. After working in Respiratory and Emergency departments in the UK and Australia, she joined Médecins Sans Frontières; coordinating malaria relief and a measles vaccination campaign in the DRC, and managing a Tuberculosis Hospital in PNG. An interest in strengthening health systems lead to involvement in the CareTrack Kids study with the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, and a position as HIV Clinical Trials Coordinator at St Vincents Hospital, Sydney, coordinating a number of pharmaceutical and investigator driven trials in HIV and Immunology. As Knowledge Translation Lead, she is responsible for leading the Centre's program of work supporting translation of research evidence into clinical practice. This is done through the development of tools and provision of training; facilitating network communications and sharing of resources; and development of benchmarking, continuous monitoring and quality improvement systems across a range of settings.
