Sam is working with the BSRG on a PhD which seeks to determine the efficacy and effectiveness of using location-based social media safety messaging to reduce injuries and fatalities at aquatic locations, popular with Instagram users. Before commencing the PhD, Sam worked with the BSRG as a research assistant on a qualitative project identifying the emotional and physical responses that people caught in a rip current experience.
