I have been a project statistician and coordinator for the TREAT Asia studies since 2009, primarily working on the HIV observational database (TAHOD, TAHOD-LITE, TAHOD CC) and resistance studies (TASER-M, TASER-S, and TASER-2). I have worked in the clinical trial sector within the pharmaceutical and CRO organisations, and is currently a Research Fellow at the Kirby Institute's Biostatistics and Databases Program. I have extensive experience in analysing different types of medical and epidemiological data (matched case-control, cross-sectional, longitudinal), including multi-regional large datasets. I am a supervisor for several PhD candidates across different research disciplines. My other interests and experience include research in haematological malignancies and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation.

My Grants

I am part of the International Epidemiology Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) grant U01AI069907.

My Qualifications

  • PhD - "HIV Drug Resistance and Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy in Asia" (The Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney, Australia)
  • Master of Statistics  (UNSW Sydney, Australia)
  • Bachelor of Science (Statistics and Pharmacology, University of Sydney, Australia)

My Research Activities

I am the Biostatistician for The TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database (TAHOD, TAHOD-LITE, TAHOD-CC). I have been involved in numerous publications over the years focusing on risk factors, adherence and genotyping in people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Asia. More recently, I have been involved in the development and analysis of TAHOD sub-studies including pregnancies among women living with HIV, mental health-related issues, linkage of loss to follow-up patients, and COVID-19 incidence and outcomes among PLHIV. I am also involved in a multi-regional study assessing risk factors for treatment and survival outcomes in patients (HIV positive and negative) diagnosed with a malignant lymphoma.

My Research Supervision

Areas of supervision

I offer higher degree research supervision in the field of biostatistics and epidemiology. I have been a statistics tutor for the Kirby Institute Biostatistics workshop and a lecturer for the Kirby's CHART program. I have conducted statistics workshops at international conferences and meetings. I am particularly interested in cohort databases. If you are interested in pursuing your postgraduate degree, please get in touch with me for a chat.
