Goran Strkalj is an anatomist and biological anthropologist. He obtained his PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 1996. Prior to his arrival to UNSW he worked at the University of the Witwatersrand (2000-2008), Macquarie University (2008-2019) and Flinders University (2022-2023) where he was Discipline Lead for Anatomy, Histology and Pathology in the College of Medicine and Public Health. As a Research Fellow he was affiliated with the Institute of Ethnography of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Evolutionary Studies Institute at the University of the Witwatersrand and the Welcome Trust Center for the History of Medicine at UCL. He acted as an associate editor for the journals Adler Museum Bulletin, Mankind Quarterly and BMC Medical Education. Prof. Strkalj's main research interests are in the anatomical sciences education, human biodiversity, body donation and history of anatomical sciences.
