Thomas is a health economist with expertise in discrete-time simulation modelling focusing on long-term health and economic outcomes of interventions targeting non-communicable diseases. He has developed health economic models for people with Type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity. Thomas is a health economist with expertise in discrete-time simulation modelling focusing on long-term health and economic outcomes of interventions targeting non-communicable diseases. He has developed health economic models for people with Type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity. He also specialises in cost-effectiveness analysis and analyses of large administratively linked health datasets. 

Thomas is currently supported by a joint NHMRC/NHF early career fellowship.
