My Research Activities
The focus of my research is on the screening and development of molecules that derive from BAM15, a protonophore mitochondrial uncoupler with powerful anti-obesity effects. I have a 5-year experience in contract research studies for Continuum Biosciences Inc. and have validated the in vivo efficacy of small molecule mitochondrial uncouplers for treating non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and associated metabolic diseases. In recent years I have also investigated the role of acetyl-coA carboxylase enzymes in the development of fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma.
