Animal Care and Ethics Online Course


 

The Animal Care and Ethics course is open to internal staff (UNSW and affiliated organisations i.e. Children's Cancer Institute, Garvan Institute, Ingham Institute, Neuroscience Research Australia, Liverpool Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, St George Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital, and Victor Chang), as well as non-affiliated organisations.

 

ONLINE PROGRAM

  • This course is composed of 10 modules with succeeding modules locked as the course is designed to be completed in order.   Each module has a short assessment at the end;  you must achieve a passing grade of 80% before you can access the next module.
  • The time to complete each module ranges between 15 - 70 minutes.  The approximate time to complete the entire course, including the assessment task, is around 10 hours.
  • To start the course, click on Module 1 image.  Module 7 has 3 options, you only need to complete one section. Choose the most relevant topic to your work.

 

MOODLE ASSESSMENT
 

To complete this course, you must successfully pass the last assessment which is a written report on the impact of procedures on animal wellbeing; please see the assignment details and submission online.  

  • You can only upload this assignment (as a Word or Pdf document) after you have successfully completed all of the online modules.
  • In order to pass this assessment, you will need to obtain a score of 80%.
  • Successful completion of the course will be recorded and you will also receive a certificate of completion via email.

 

REGISTRATION

  • Registration is via myUNSW.
  • Select "My Staff Profile" and "Learning and Development" and choose "Course Number" and search for "ACECON"
  • Once you have registered, you will receive an email notifying you if registration is successful. The course will be available 24 hours after registration on Moodle.
