Sean is the Program Authority for UNSW Medicine, Education Lead for the UNSW Randwick Clinical Campus and Head of Paediatric Nephrology at Sydney Children's Hospital. He is an active clinician, researcher and educator. He has been a member of the Scientific Programme & Education Committee of the Australian & New Zealand Society of Nephrology and was the Manager of the Paediatric Working Group of the Australian & New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry (ANZDATA) between 20011 and 2017.
Sean is a medical advisor to Tuberous Sclerosis Australia and is recognised for his expertise in management of the renal manifestations of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). He has an ongoing research programme with his colleagues at the Sydney Children's Hospital TSC Clinic.

My Research Activities
My primary research activity is focussed on clinical studies aimed at improving outcomes for children with kidney disease. These research and clinical interests span the whole paediatric age group from the newborn period to adolescence and include children with congenital structural anomalies, those with end stage kidney disease who have had transplants or are on dialysis, as well as those with acute kidney injury.
Research in tuberous sclerosis includes studies exploring the molecular basis and clinical progression of benign tumours as well as research aimed at gaining a greater understanding of the needs of patients and their families.
