Registered pharmacist (>34 years experience: Community as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (locums), Hospital Pharmacist as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmaceutical Industry as a CRA), with academic teaching experience (>24 years) across three universities (USYD, UTS and UNSW)

Appointed in 2024 (one of 5 in NSW) to Fellow at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (FPS) 

Nominated by the Minister for Health and Appointed by the Governor as the Deputy President on the Pharmacy Council of NSW.

Recipient of 2024 Senior Fellow in Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), UK 

Attained all relevant qualifications at the University of Sydney, including the Grad Cert in Educational Studies (Higher Education) (refer qualifications section).

Former academic instructor, practitioner-teacher, and Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney (16 years) and former Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for the Masters' program (8 years). 

Dr Lucas holds additional Adjunct Fellow positions for: Faculty of Health at UTS and the Connected Intelligence Centre, UTS.

Currently, a Nexus Fellow in the School of Population Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health, UNSW.  Research areas are focused on curriculum instruction, design, assessment, feedback and reflective practice in pharmacy education, GenAI in education, interprofessional education, collaboration and practice. 

Dr Lucas has published over 90 manuscripts/ conference papers with greater than 57 manuscripts as First or Senior last author.
